There’s really not a better summer drink as far as I’m concerned. 😀 Watermelon cocktails are super simple to throw together, and made fancy with hardly any effort at all. I kept it simple the day I made it last – only watermelon, tequila and sugar. But you can add alllllll sorts of things – mint, salt, lime juice – that only make it better.
This recipe got documented in the Instructables test kitchen, as seen below:
- half a large seedless watermelon (enough to fill a blender – maybe 5-6 cups?)
- 2-3 shots tequila
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- citrus juice – lime is perfect!
- two handfuls of ice cubes
Chop the watermelon up and pop it into a blender. Add the tequila, sugar and ice cubes. Blend well.
Taste it and add more tequila or sugar as needed.
Audrey originally bought the watermelons for watermelon jerky, but as the afternoon went on and we had a good amount of watermelon left over, we went for it.
