Spaghetti and meatballs is deceptively easy to make – and well worth the time! I make both the sauce and the meatballs from scratch in mine. I think you’ll be surprised how much of a difference it makes if you try it out. 😀

I always start by getting the tomato sauce on the stove so it can reduce and thicken. I use canned tomatoes, onion, garlic and loads of herbs in my sauces. The canned tomatoes save time and they normally taste better than the fresh tomatoes in stores!

Once the sauce is on, I start the meatballs.

I just use ground beef for mine, but a pork/beef mix is great too! I like to mix in parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, eggs, garlic and parsley.

I roll the meatballs in a little bit of flour and then fry them off until they’re beauitfully browned – you don’t need to cook them all the way through here because they’ll be simmered in the tomato sauce later!

To finish off the meatballs, transfer them back into the sauce and simmer, covered, for about a half hour. In that time you can cook up your pasta and maybe even make a salad if you’re feeling fancy.
