Ganache is super simple to make – I do it the lazy, not-so-fancy way which I think is best. I never worry about getting it glaze-y and glossy and perfect. I like to use it for fillings and frostings, and it’s more for taste instead of looks. 😀
All you need to make ganache is equal amounts of chocolate and cream. Measure by the ounce to make sure you’re good to go!
This time, I used 12 oz chocolate and 12 oz cream.
How to make ganache:
- Pop the cream in a large glass measuring cup – microwave for 4-5 minutes. You want to heat it up until little bubbles form on the surface.
- Add in your chocolate little by little and mix well between each batch. You want to entirely dissolve the chocolate in the cream.
- Now we’ll need to cool it down! Cool it down just a little for a glaze – for frosting you’ll want to pop it in the fridge for a couple hours, or until really thick.
- If you want to make frosting, pull it out of the fridge, and beat it until nice and fluffy.
Try not to eat the whole bowl. Ganache stomachaches are the worst. 😀
