Ganache is super simple to make – I do it the lazy, not-so-fancy way which I think is best. I never worry about getting it glaze-y and glossy and perfect. I like to use it for fillings and frostings, and it’s more for taste instead of looks. 😀

All you need to make ganache is equal amounts of chocolate and cream. Measure by the ounce to make sure you’re good to go!

This time, I used 12 oz chocolate and 12 oz cream.

How to make ganache:

  1. Pop the cream in a large glass measuring cup – microwave for 4-5 minutes. You want to heat it up until little bubbles form on the surface.
  2. Add in your chocolate little by little and mix well between each batch. You want to entirely dissolve the chocolate in the cream.
  3. Now we’ll need to cool it down! Cool it down just a little for a glaze – for frosting you’ll want to pop it in the fridge for a couple hours, or until really thick.
  4. If you want to make frosting, pull it out of the fridge, and beat it until nice and fluffy.

Try not to eat the whole bowl. Ganache stomachaches are the worst. 😀
