Lately I’ve not been embroidering very much at all. After a really busy holiday season on Etsy that seemed to go until February, and then trying to build inventory up for Patchwork show last month, I was wiped. Totally burned out.
Etsy’s been slow lately, and I’ve been trying to focus on other things, too! But I got an order last week for the set of wild things embroideries above. I realize now that I’ve embroidered these so many times I can almost do it blindfolded. I’ve embroidered them so many times that they seem like a chore now, and that makes me sad.
I’m so ready to feel like making new things again! I’m starting to think I want to do more one-off pieces even though they’re harder to let go of. I want to do more satin stitch. I’m especially excited about this piece:
Petunia from Pete and Pete! I sketched her out before last Christmas and I still haven’t cleaned up my sketch, but I know she’ll be gorgeous with a satin stitched dress and satin stitched hair. And I’ve got the perfect 5×9 hoop to put her in. 😀
I think once I finish the current book I’m reading (N0S4A2) I’m going to force myself to sit down and try. That’s really all I can do.
